Building a Pool in Maryland

When you choose PoolMax, you're choosing a builder that will work with you to maximize the features and quality of your pool while adhering to your budget. PoolMax has been building and servicing pools in the Maryland region for over 23 years. Buying a pool is a big investment - we work with our clients, explaining the process and guiding them throughout every step.

Take advantage of our special offer and get an automatic cleaning system for your new inground pool absolutely free. This $1500 value includes a Polaris cleaner, complete inground plumbing, a booster pump and full installation.

What type of in ground pool should I buy?

Although gunite (concrete) and fiberglass pools have many differences, you may be surprised to learn that they are not that different when it comes to cost. Both need plumbing, electrical and pool equipment installations so the biggest difference is simply the material used for the shell. At PoolMax, we build gunite pools primarily because of their flexibility in design and greater durability. (We don't recommend vinyl liner pools simply because of the need to replace the liner in the future.)

In Ground Pool Shapes

Using gunite, any size or shape pool is possible - the only limitations are the available space and your budget. Although rectangles tend to be the least expensive and most popular, with a gunite pool you can expand a simple rectangle with bump-outs and curves to make it look more unique without over-extending your cost. Take a look at the bone-shaped pool we built for a local dog daycare center.
