We thought it would be interesting to show you the construction process for a new pool. This pool build is located in the Essex and Middle River area of Baltimore County – close to the Chesapeake Bay. With two swim-ready Golden’s in the household, this homeowner couldn’t be happier with the new addition in their backyard!
This inground sports pool features a custom shape, two skimmers, a huge sun shelf and two entry/exit areas with wrapping steps. Take a look at our video showing the gunite being shot to form the shell. The gunite portion of the project is arguably the most interesting and exciting part of pool construction.
The technician forms the large sun shelf using gunite.
Gunite pools use a rebar framework that is sprayed over with a concrete and sand mixture. Concrete pools (utilizing this gunite process) are one of the top choices for homeowners today, due to their beauty, versatility and durability.
